Manila Water to spend P2.4B on reservoirs - Yahoo! Philippines News

East Zone concessionaire Manila Water Co. will spend as much as P2.4 billion to build more reservoirs to meet increasing demand and ensure reliable supply in Antipolo City.

“We are constructing additional facilities and expanding our network to expand our reach. The Antipolo project will lay mainlines and build the Kingsville Station and the Siruna and Lukban Reservoirs and Pumping Stations," company director for project delivery Ding Carpio said on Wednesday.

Ayala-led Manila Water recently built the 20-million liter (ML) Maguey Reservoir in Antipolo City to increase the capacity of the Lukban Pumping Station by 20 million more liters to 41.5 ML.

“The newly constructed reservoir is an important project since it will increase the reliability of water supply because water will now flow in the pipelines via gravity, assuring continuous water supply," Carpio said.

Once fully operational, the Maguey reservoir will benefit new customers from the highly elevated Poblacion area and allow the company to expand water supply to Teresa and Morong towns in Rizal.
